Availability of Service During Change Limited Users will not have access to old email during migration process
Description of Change
Umbrella notice for Student Messaging Service Renewal Project. Involves changes
to a number of systems for which separate change notices have and will be
raised. Some changes already done* as needed for pilot:
 MDS: Changes required to mail attributes to reflect that user is Google user*
 Account creation: Create new accounts with Google rather than Monash mail
 my.monash: Sign Google users on to Google rather than current mail. Allow
eligible users to sign up to Google mail and to migrate existing mail*
 mail.monash: Redirect Google users to Google rather than current mail system*
 NIS: Allow access to Google Apps without having to authenticate to the internet* 
 Central Mail Hub: Apply new rules for mail from Google*
 Migrate users mail to Google

ITS Service desk are well aware of the project and have participated in the
pilot group.
Extensive communication has been undertaken with both Malaysia (Edmund Turner)
and South Africa (Bradley Arthur) throughout the project

posters, marketing, etc
